Portrait method of psychotherapy, as well as "daughter" methods (therapeutic self-portrait, bodiartherapy, etc.) are considered by the author in the broad context of modern scientific and clinical views. Such phenomena of psychotherapeutic impact as self-identification, catharsis, etc. are analyzed in detail.
