Another attempt to trace the evolution of the image of the trait in the religious, mythological, philosophical, cultural and historical space was made in 1911 by the famous Russian prose writer, playwright, publicist, feuilletonist, literary and theatrical critic Alexander Amfitheatrov in his treatise "The Devil in Everyday Life, Legend and in the Literature of the Middle Ages." The experience was not unsuccessful. His book as a reference book when working on The Master and Margarita was used by the great Bulgakov, creating images of Woland and his retinue.
