Member of the Central National Committee (CNC) in the months immediately preceding the uprising, and then a member of all the composition of the rebel National Government until August 1863, Aveide had such extensive information about the development of the movement, about its participants and the course of events, many of which remained a secret not only to opponents of the uprising, but also for the overwhelming majority of the rebels themselves, that in this respect anyone else from the memoirists of the 1863 uprising could hardly compete with him.
