The name Ho Chi Minh was well known to every Soviet citizen. Books devoted to his biography were published in huge editions. After the collapse of the USSR, several decades passed, and new studies of the life of the most famous statesman of Vietnam did not appear. In Soviet historiography, the biography of the famous Vietnamese has been idealized and at the present stage a number of aspects need to be revised.
