In sociology, it is very difficult to take into account space and at the same time use the usual apparatus of theory. Among the main sociological questions inherited from the classical tradition, there is no question of "where?" Nowadays, philosophers and cultural scientists, social geographers and anthropologists talk a lot about space. Sociologists also included space among their topics. But they have to pay for their interest in space either by the loss of a specifically sociological dictionary of theory, or by abandoning a clear and consistent study of the foundations of their discipline in line with the great sociological tradition. Is it possible to conceptualize space in sociology by continuing to talk about people's meaningful actions and interactions? Is it possible to localize communication? Do we talk about the same space whenever we think sociologically? This study is devoted to these and many other questions of the same kind.
