Berlin, 1939. In the city, one by one, nightmarishly mutilated female corpses are discovered. The investigation is entrusted to the secret police, but she is completely at a loss. It is only known that all those killed belonged to high society; all attended a very refined indoor ladies club; and everyone, shortly before their death, dreamed of the sinister Marble Man - either a killer, or a mirage, or a ghost.
