A brief analysis of the US tax legislation in terms of foreign economic activity regulating the taxation of foreign and US legal entities and individuals engaged in business activities in the USA and abroad is presented. The issues of enforcement of income tax treaties between the United States and its trading partners, rules for determining tax jurisdiction and tax obligations of legal entities and individuals, as well as compensation to avoid double taxation are considered.
