The military theoretical work, based on the analysis of domestic and foreign military experience, reveals the role, significance and place of fortification as one of the important and complex tasks of engineering support for combat in the use of nuclear missile and other weapons. Fortification equipment of positions and areas occupied by troops in the offensive, defense and during movements, and the construction of various barriers significantly increase the effectiveness of the use of weapons, create the necessary conditions for the advance of their troops and ensure the necessary stability of positions and defense areas when repelling the enemy. The work is intended for a wide range of officers and cadets of military schools.
