Arthur Pap (Arthur Pap, 1921-1959) - American philosopher, professor at Yale University. Semantics came out in 1958. To date, this is the most complete and thorough study of specific problems of analysis in Russian. Pap himself was a proponent of so-called pragmatic analysis, a current whose leader was Willard Quine. Pragmatists were gradualists: they abandoned the use of sharp dichotomies analytical synthetic, a priori posterior, necessary random, logical factual, believing that between the limiting cases there is a continuum of statements with a pragmatic orientation.
