The reader would in vain look for the name of Hugh Davidson in encyclopedias - this was just a pseudonym under which Edmond Hamilton, one of the pioneers of American science fiction and master of the space opera, published "black" or "strange" fantastic works (1904-1977). The book includes the novel "The Lord of the Vampires," where the fearless occult detective Dr. Dale and his assistant Harley Owen act, as well as the story "Vampire Village" - works that played a prominent role in the formation of the vampiric genre.
