The physicochemical basis of the processes taking place in the mold during its manufacture, in metal melts during melting of metals and interaction of metal with the mold are described. Methods for calculating equilibrium systems during physical and chemical interaction of components with each other are described. The applications of the laws of physical chemistry to the calculation of real foundry processes have been significantly expanded. Reference data on thermodynamic, kinetic, surface and other properties are given.
