The book of N.V. Skritsky presents the history of corsarianism in Russia: campaigns of Russian princes in the southern seas and river ushkuniki of Russia, privateer Cossack raids on the Black and Caspian Seas in the 16th-17th centuries and the actions of Russian squadrons in the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean in the 19th century. Cruising surface and underwater operations of the beginning of the 20th century are not ignored by the author.
