A monograph by Canadian mathematician containing promising methods and constructions of modern graph theory (connectivity, factorization, coloring, planarity, etc.). Many of the results belong to an author active in combinatorial theory. The book was published in the well-known series "Encyclopedia of Mathematics and its Applications," a number of volumes of which were published in Russian.
