The monograph discusses the results of theoretical and experimental studies of photon transport in biotissues and describes methods for solving direct and inverse scattering problems in randomly inhomogeneous media and partially ordered media with multiple or single scattering. Theoretical consideration is based on stationary and non-stationary theories of radiation transfer for highly scattering media, Mie theory and the numerical Monte Carlo method.
