The book is devoted to the analysis of the theoretical positions of one of the most influential historians and theorists of art of the 20th century - Hans Zedlmayr (1896-1984). The characteristic combination of the radicalism of methodological postulates and the firmness of Christian beliefs allowed him to see the history of the cult in the history of art.
