The textbook discusses the basic concepts of word formation as a universal language process, complex units of the word formation system, and at the same time the features of word formation in modern French: suffixation, prefixation, parasynthesis. Separate chapters describe word addition, conversion, and reduction. Special attention is paid to the addition of Greek-Latin elements. Each chapter is accompanied by a series of exercises.
