The book is the first exposition of the history of Iran from ancient times to the present day in Russian and Soviet historiography. It uses Russian, Soviet, Iranian and Western European literature, taking into account the latest achievements of Soviet and foreign historiography, as well as a wide range of sources on the history of Iran.
