Memoirs of the outstanding writer and journalist of the Russian diaspora Zinaida Alekseevna Shakhovskaya cover almost half a century - from 1910 to 1950. The era about which the author writes has absorbed the most tragic social upheavals and breakdowns of the past century. A witness to two world wars, the revolution, the exodus of Russian emigration, Shakhovskaya left truthful, lively and brilliantly written memories. The memoirs were published in French from 1964 to 1967 in four separate books under the general subtitle "This is my century." The Russian translation of the memoirs, combined into one edition, is being published for the first time.
