In the Swedish criminal law system there is a place for even the most difficult and strange cases, for which an elite unit, known as the Delicate Investigation Unit, is responsible in the Malmö police: Ulf "Wolf" Varg, an attentive and thoughtful leader, Anna Bengsdotter, in love with Varg's car (it is possible that in Varg himself too), Karl Holgersson, who loves to fill out papers more than anything else, and Eric Nykvist, wholeheartedly devoted to the art of fishing. Ulf takes on the most unusual crimes that require tact and good knowledge of human nature, along the way trying to unravel the tangle of his own romantic feelings and help his dog, the only dog in all of Sweden who has learned to read lips, cope with depression.
