The monograph is devoted to the formation and evolution of the original genre of Roman literature - poetic satire. The fate of the literary genre can be traced throughout the II century. BC e. - II century. n e. The surviving fragments of the satyrs of Ennius, Lucilius and other poets, as well as the satirical work of Horace, Persia and Juvenal, are investigated. This is the first monograph on Roman satire in Soviet literary criticism.
