By the strength of spirit, mind and talent, and most importantly - by the power of selfless love for his native land, Themistocles accomplished the impossible. Leading the battle of Salamis (480 BC. e.), he defeated the Persian fleet, which was considered invincible. The Battle of Salamis, after which King Xerxes fled from the shores of Hellas, was one of the decisive battles in this difficult war. Ancient historians carefully preserved the name of Themistocles, crowned it with laurels. But crowned after he died. During his life, Themistocles learned in full measure not only the happiness of fame, but also grave sorrows, and resentment, and loss...
