The proposed physiological theory of dreams is based on the teachings of academician I.P. Pavlov on higher nervous activity and is an attempt to give a materialistic theory of dreams. This work is designed for physiologists, psychologists, clinicians, especially psychoneurologists, psychiatrists and neuropathologists. We hope that this work will serve as the beginning for further research on this issue by experimenters and clinicians.
