The nutrition of the proletariat in the USSR after the victory of the proletarian revolution, being one of the most sensitive indicators of the country's growing prosperity, will undoubtedly be of great interest to all our sociologists and economists. Judging by this indicator, by the end of 1924 our proletariat had surpassed both quantitatively and qualitatively all pre-war nutritional standards. Of course, these norms of the heyday of capitalist exploitation in a poor country have never been particularly enviable. And we, together with the author of the proposed work, have no doubt that the nutrition of the Soviet proletariat, if not quantitatively, then qualitatively, will still show very significant further growth in the coming years. But the achieved level is also a rather tangible indicator of what the proletariat can do even in very difficult conditions of a long-term war and blockade of the economy, which is utterly devastated by disasters, when it itself becomes the master of its own destiny and this economy.
