This doctrine, known for thousands of years, merges with the teachings of Pythagoras and Heraclitus, atomists and Stoics, even Neoplatonists, although formally the latter did not accept it. The controversy associated with it was intense in early and late Antiquity, faded away a little in the Middle Ages and Modern times, but now, thanks to the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, it has become relevant again. The book examines the main provisions of this doctrine, as it turns out, the deepest, while emphasizing its fundamental difference from the concept of cyclic repetitions. In the perspective of this doctrine, "eternal questions" are discussed that have haunted humanity since its original times.
