Two comedians Laura Lane and Ellen Hawn reread children's tales and found that outrageous things were happening in them: without asking consent, princes kiss unfamiliar sleeping girls, one woman serves a family of seven men, wolves pursue their victims in the forest, stepmother abuser rubs young stepdaughter. In addition, the plots are replete with violence, and all the heroes are cisgender white men and women. We were brought up on these texts, they were filmed by Disney, but times have changed, and the authors decided to rewrite the stories familiar from childhood and offered the heroines a fate that would be impossible in a patriarchal world.
