The Northern Sea Route runs along the marginal Arctic seas adjacent to the Eurasian mainland. In the west, this path is bounded by the meridian of the northern tip of Europe - Cape Nordkap, in the east - the northeastern tip of Asia - Cape Dezhnev. The first time the Northern Sea Route was traversed along its entire length only in 1879. (Vega by A. Nordenskiöld), however, some of its sections were visited by humans much earlier. Since the acquaintance of a cultural person with the Arctic began from Scandinavia, it is quite understandable that the first section of the Northern Sea Route traveled by a person was the westernmost section - from the North Cape to the White Sea.
