The book includes selected stories from the collection of the XVII century. "Jin Gu Qiguan." The period of creation of the stories included in this collection - the end of the 16th - beginning of the 17th centuries - was marked in the history of Chinese literature by the revival of the huaben genre - a brief record of the main storyline of an oral story - and the appearance of stories based on such huaben written in a simple spoken language of that time. This genre played an exceptional role in the development of historical, everyday and science fiction novels.
