Soviet writer Jan Leopoldovich Larry (1900-1977) is known to the reader almost exclusively as the author of the famous science fiction novel "The Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Vali," dedicated to travels in the microcosm. The story was published dozens of times, many generations of Soviet children were brought up on it. However, Larry wrote many more works for children and adolescents, less famous and never reprinted. The modern reader is practically unknown to his only completed "adult" novel "Land of the Happy (1931); many of his stories and stories did not even come out with books, remained on the pages of newspapers.
