The book by Sergei Valerievich Sokolovsky examines the most general principles of classification of ethnic communities and the influence on them of the peculiarities of Russian perception of foreign-speaking, foreign-cultural and non-religious peoples in various eras of Russian history. Particular attention is paid to the modern topology of thinking about the "Others" and its connections with the political ties of peoples and minorities.
