The book contains comprehensive information on the causative agents of viral infections and methods of virological laboratory diagnostics based on the syndromic approach. The theoretical foundations of molecular genetic methods already used in medical virology (serological tests, PCR, etc.) and technologically new ones that are only included in medical practice (microchips and electron microscopic studies) are described in detail.
