The foundations of physics are outlined on the basis of a new approach to building a combined theory of space-time and physical interactions (binary geometrophysics), which relies on the concept of relations between events. The physical foundation of this approach is: 1) the relational concept of classical spacetime, 2) the concept of long-range action (the theory of direct interparticle interaction of Fokker-Feynman), an alternative field theory, 3) the theory of the S-matrix in microcosm physics, 4) the principles of multidimensional geometric models of physical interactions such as the theories of Kaluza and Klein and 5) the idea of the macroscopic nature of classical spacetime. The mathematical basis of the relational approach is provided by the theory of binary systems of complex relations, which are the prototype of reference systems in the theory of relativity. The fundamental possibility of representing the foundations of geometry and fundamental physical concepts of the microcosm in terms of binary systems of complex relations of lower ranks (dimensions) is substantiated.
