Offered to the attention of readers, the novel by one of the largest writers of modern Sweden, Per Ulov Enquist (born in 1934) considers the questions that have occupied the human mind at all times: what is a person, what is he and what is his purpose here on Earth. The action in the "Library of Captain Nemo" develops, as it were, on three levels: in the actual event outline of the work, where the main character talks about himself, his childhood, about the people who surrounded him and shared his bitter fate with him, biblical plots and elements of fiction are intertwined.
