The book "Into the Arctic Sea" opens a new series of books published by the publishing house "Paulsen" - "Diaries of modern expeditions." The book tells about Russian-Dutch expeditions to Novaya Zemlya and the island of Vaigach, where, together with Russian archaeologists, scientists were looking for traces of the last, third expedition of Willem Barents. For Barents, the expedition ended tragically - during the first wintering in the history of the Arctic in 1597, he died on Novaya Zemlya. His grave has not yet been found.
