The first fundamental scientific work on various issues of gastric surgery, based on the author's personal 30 years of experience. The issues of indications for operations in patients with peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum with its complicated forms and with gastric cancer of various localization are examined in detail, and the choice of surgical methods is considered.
