The initial task of the authors of this book was to collect and analyze information significant for an adequate assessment of the events that occurred. Based on this, a critical analysis of a large set of data and the results of calculated modeling of emergency processes at the Fukushima-1 NPP was carried out; data on dynamics of radiation situation formation are analyzed; estimates and forecasts of radiological and socio-economic consequences of the accident.
