Lev Vladimirovich Losev (real name - Lifshits) was born on June 15, 1937 in Leningrad in the family of the poet-satirist V. Lifshits. In 1959 he graduated from the philological faculty (journalism department) of Leningrad State University. He began to write poetry as a student, participated in the university LITO, in seminars of young authors at the Writers' Union. In 1962-1975 he worked in the children's magazine "Koster" as an editor of the pioneer department, wrote children's poems and plays, as well as scripts for children's television films. In 1976 he emigrated from the USSR, settled in the United States. Collaborated with the magazine "Continent."
