The proposed book briefly characterizes the history of the development of epics in an era when they lived a full creative life, when the images of the main characters of the epic, the foundations of a peculiar style, were formed. The last chapter describes the song-collective poetics of epics. The book was written for a word teacher, but it will be interesting for everyone who is interested in the heroic epic.
