The textual work on the comedy of A.S. Griboyedov, conducted for many years, was based on the study of three authorized manuscripts, the text of the almanac "Russian Talia for 1825" and a huge number of comedy lists. This made it possible to establish the sequence and branch of handwritten editions, determine the authenticity and value of certain options and eliminate fakes, many errors that crept into previous compilation editions.
