The collection includes studies based mainly on sources found in the manuscript collections of Lviv, Kyiv, Moscow, Krakow and Warsaw. They give an idea of ​ ​ the Bratslav Voivodeship that existed as part of the noble Commonwealth in 1566-1793, its borders, the composition and structure of settlements, seymics, local conflicts, the actions of Cossacks, and the flight of peasants. studies are accompanied by analysis of sources, and some by their publication. When getting acquainted with the content of the collection, the reader should keep in mind that the Bratslav Voivodeship left behind very few documents, and therefore the study of its history is possible only at the fragmentary level.
