The book contains a translation of all surviving fragments of Dopplatonian philosophers from Orphics to Atomists (excluding the latter), as well as biographical and doxographic evidence about them. This edition is a completely new translation into Russian of the "Fragments of Pre-Socratics" by Diels-Kranz, significantly supplemented by the inclusion in this collection of a large number of new materials, either ignored by German compilers, or remaining previously unknown or unnoticed. Given the enormous popularity of Diels-Krantz and the widespread distribution of Fragments of Pre-Socratics in all countries of the world, it was considered expedient to preserve the main structure of Fragments in the new Russian edition.
