"New Organon" by Francis Bacon is the main classic work of the ancestor of English materialism. In it, in the form of brief, brilliant aphorisms, a materialistic worldview is outlined, the bourgeoisie of the era of the initial capitalist accumulation in England. Bacon severely criticizes scholastic science and demands to study not words, but nature. He proposes a new method, a new logic for discovering the laws of nature. His whole philosophy is aimed at a practical task - increasing human power over nature.
