A boy from Kobrin, or rather a fellow from the future Zakhar Gorchak, who is in his body, survived a terrible battle with the Nazis. He was picked up and rescued by partisans from the legendary Winners squad. Having recovered, Zakhar joined the detachment and, thanks to a coincidence, again fell into the enemy rear. Under a false name and with a new legend, the boy manages to deftly deceive the enemy, trapping entire units of the Nazis. Fate brings Zakhar with the legendary scout saboteur Nikolai Ivanovich Kuznetsov.
