The monograph explores the prerequisites for the creation, history, main directions of organizational, cultural, educational, financial activities of the Tomsk and Tobolsk departments of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society in the late XIX - early XX centuries; the scale and characteristics of the pilgrimage of Orthodox Siberians to Palestine were revealed, educational work aimed at popularizing knowledge about Palestine and its shrines, the process of forming a certain image of the Holy Land its inhabitants during this work was analyzed.
