I planned a book about my stay in Israel there, in Tel Aviv. The working title is "In the Nest of Zionism" (joke) or "Five Years Among the Jews" (and survived, added local wits). This book is not entertaining reading. There are practically no spicy stories in it that so often adorn memoir literature. And what is in it? It has a modern Israel, as I saw it and as I understood it. It touches on the history and specifics of the Jewish state, tells about Zionism and anti-Semitism. It shows the life of an ordinary Russian embassy in a very unusual country. And finally, its author is present in it.
