The monograph on the materials of the Black Earth Center discusses theoretical and applied issues related to the identification, study, systematization of the simplest natural-territorial complexes. General problems of landscape science are touched upon. The need to develop factual foundations of integrated physical geography based on the study of the simplest natural-territorial complexes of specific regions is justified.
