The book contains tasks and examples offered at competitive exams in higher educational institutions of the Ukrainian SSR. With a few exceptions, methods for solving them are given to all tasks and examples. The book is a manual for applicants to universities, which can be used by students of the physics and mathematics faculties of universities and pedagogical institutes, as well as teachers of mathematics.
