The book completes the publication of documents prepared for publication by academician S.B. Veselovsky on the history of land descriptions, land surveying and taxation in Russia at the end of the 17th-17th centuries. Cases and documents of central and local institutions cover the procedure for describing land in the northern counties of the European North, types of land use, taxes and solvency of the population for 1669-1682. Documents and cases "gross" descriptions and land surveying in the counties of European Russia in 1684-1687. represent the only set of surviving systematic data on scribal office work.
