In the "Introduction" to the first edition, the author raised the question of the Marx doctrine of the Asian method of production, believing that in order to understand the historical process in China, the Marx concept of the Asian method of production is necessary and fruitful. During the discussion on this issue, the author had the opportunity to correct a number of mistakes made by him in the first attempt to interpret the views of Marx and Engels on this issue and to express his views in a "positive form.
