Basic information on groundwater, conditions of its formation, occurrence, distribution and movement, the influence of groundwater on the development of minerals and methods of combating water inflows into mine workings are presented. The basics of engineering geology are given - general information about soils, their physical and mechanical properties; landslide and floating phenomena and methods of combating them are considered, elementary calculations of slope stability are given.
