The loner writer was a dissenter in the Soviet Union and is now a dissident in the United States, and is an intellectual provocation, a witty challenge posed by the author to Russian and American critics. At the end of the book, the reader will find an interesting essay by Druzhnikov about the new genre of "microman" introduced by him into literature.
